Chrissy-Bean's Cake Decorating Hand Art & Creative Innovations
|
I'm sure that anyone who cake decorates know the great feeling of creative and artistic freedoms and expressions that can be done with the edible materials that make up everyone's special events.
At my job, I am not only assistant manager of a bakery but I am one of the prime decorators. One thing that I don't think any of my customers understand is that I don't use templates, or molds. Every piece of my work is done out of icing free hand drawn and occasionally molded with just a little bit of water and a spatula for smoothing. Some of these cakes have taken me minutes, some an hour or two. I know a lot of people might be thinking I can do all these things with templates and molds or even fondant to make a much more perfect finish. My job does not offer fondant, nor do we have rice krispy molds like the Cake Boss(all i get are rice krispy treats off the shelves in the store), my creations are pure cake and icing, except for a few added touches on some cakes where candy or cookies were involved in small detail on top. I am proud of my cakes and I'm sharing them with the world in hopes that cake art can be appreciated a lot more. Please note that though I did make all of the cakes in these pictures that I wasn't the designer behind all of them. For instance the Minecraft cake was inspired off of a few pinterest photos and my Princess Leia cupcakes idea was found via google image search for ideas. Same goes for a disclaimer on all my disney and logo cakes. I obviously didn't invent the images myself but rather looked off of photos. :) |
